A few kernels of canned corn has worked well for me. Just let the corn rest on the bottom for the carp to gobble. A bite alarm is ideal for this method, but just a float or bell hanging between the first and second eye does the job. You'll generally have best luck above any dams.

From what I remember the original author removed the link from this forum due to concerns from members that due to the popularity of this forum in the capital region these spots may suffer. I do not see any spot-burning policies for fish-hawk. I think in many circumstances shore spots are especially...

Lots of spots for even the smallest kids, not much in terms of trout though I think. Nice perch and walleye action all over the river, and nothing gets a beginner more excited than fighting a carp :) (be careful they like to break and pull rods into the water, bring proper gear. Excuse me if this is...

Welcome to the Rideau,

usually I jig for Walleye, this weekend my brother was in town with presents. Caught 7 Carp from 14 lb to 24.10 lb, and a few catfish.

Just goes to show the variety of fishing it has to offer.

fish4ever, my fishing habits and life are very similar to yours. I hope to run into you at one of these spots some day and share an afternoon of fishing. As far as taking fish, I have nothing against it, as long as it is done responsibly. I carry a terrible cheap knife, but nice pliers (to release w...

I fully agree with almontefisher, this is very very sad. fish4ever I am glad you do not take this personally, you have no idea how bad I felt to post my concern. I do share my spots, with friends and occasionally with acquaintances that have a genuine concern for conservation. Even in a forum enviro...

fish4ever...

great job on this, I just hope it does not cause spotburning.

A spot I fish regularly was very busy today, I hope your efforts do not cause damage to some of these locations. Other fishing forums have rules against identifying specific locations for this very reason.
