Re: No bite at Calabogie lake

Its not you. The fishing was slow during the middle of the day. I was fishing eccolands park yesterday with a buddy (in a inflatable boat). We fished a 300 meter span of shore line with berkley gulp alive minnows on 1/8 jigs. We only caught a 6 inch bass and a crayfish.

Re: Half Moon Bay?

I did try there on pike opener there a few years back. I didn't catch anything mind you it was during the middle of the day. I did wade to the far side and covered a far bit of water I used a spinner bait and also a one eighth ounce jig and grub. Given how public that spot is, the fishing would prob...

Re: Mississippi Lake Musky rumor

Saw a muskie in there as a kid. But that would be like 13 years ago. There is northern pike but they quite small and its hard to break the 30 inch mark. If there is some large pike in there my guess would to to try the deeper section of the lake along weed lines on a over cast day that also happens ...

If your looking for muskie there about a dozen in hogs back and they probably won't bite. Theres some in dows lake and mooneys bay ( mooneys bay will probably require a boat though). Black rapids, brewer park, billings bridge. Try a sucker on a stinger rig with a average size float, or when fish are...

I fished mud lake and would like to tell you the truth on this matter. Only in the spring the fishing is good in there, and thats only for for brown bullhead. Brown bullhead can onlly be caught in the spring because they don't seem interested in biting at other times of the year. YOU WOULD BE better...

my uncle at one point in time had a cottage that lake he used to troll on the edge of the drop off for lake trout in the spring and would throw rapala's in the shallower bays for pike. According to him it is fairly good for lake trout and pike and it's also quite deep.

Wow way, to be to sensitive and politically correct. Your oppinion would drastically different if you had some of favorite fishing spots fished out and witnessed poaching by an indentifiable group. You are most likely boat fisher's or do not live in the ottawa area. Here an example I was fishing, an...

I disapointed to see one of my favorite freshwater fish raised simply to meet the taste of immigrants and foriegners. A largemouth bass's value is greater at the end of the line for sport than simply fillets. The real thing that annoys me is the foriegn fisherman keeping 5-8 inch bass, and as a resu...
