where are you fishing, that allows multiple lines and trout fishing this early?

Gar does not count as pike? Not that I would fish for that anyhow.
Probably go for cats or barbut, the only time I would eat catfish from the Ottawa river is in the spring.

I just wanted to make sure that I am not breaking any fishing regulations, but this weekend i plan on taking the boat out and maybe going around the Fitzroy damn on the Ottawa river. I think Catfish, Crappie and Perch are all legal in April? Is their anything else I can fish for?

If you want waterfront in that area be prepared to pay a fair buck. The fishing is great, I have caught everything from Mud puppies to 50" Muskies. The only thing i have not caught so far is Sturgeon. Nice beaches at Constance, Mohr island and McLarens. Beer and liquor store in constance as wel...

I think it is the end of the season for me. Some guy was passing out posters for a tournament in Quyon this weekend but looking at the Chats lake camera I think it may be a bit tricky? So i assume any Ontario residents coming over this weekend will be able to fish on the Ottawa River on the Quebec side without a lisc. since it is Family fishing day in Ontario?

the rules of the province you are fishing in apply. fishing ontario side = ontario rules...fishing quebec side = quebec rules OK, could i use my Quebec license on the ontario side of the river during the winter like I can in the summer? No not right in Mohr island ( though the cottage is across from the island), it is a little bit North-east of Mohr Island, if you take the ice bridge across that is lined with the old Xmas trees from Constance it take you close by. At least i assume that it is an ice bridge for the snowmobiles?

Got myself an ice fishing hut and an auger and plan to go fishing out at the cottage this weekend.
