Interesting thread as almost all of us have a story to share. My story happened 6 or 7 years ago on opening weekend of bass at devils elbow between the rideau canal and dog lake. This is a sharp s curved narrow spot that is riddled with shoals and deadheads. I was 15 or 16 with with my dad and one o...

Kingston Area
Just wonderring what the ice situation is like around Kingston, for those of you from the area. Im stuck up in Peterborough for school right now, but will be back in Kingston this weekend. Wonderring if the ice has gone out on some of the smaller lakes as I was hoping to get the boat out for some cr...

With the return to seasonal weather things seem to have cooled down a little from what I've seen during my drives. How many of you guys accually evr had a consent form filled out from a private land owner as I was asked to get one and was happy to comply as it clears the land owner of any liabiliti...

Cats in the Ottawa
Hey guys, Ive heard the rumors of how fun the catfishing can be in the Ottawa. A buddy and me are hoping to make a trip up from Kingston on the weekend of April 16th to give them a try. We will be fishing from a 14ft alluminum and are looking for a spot that this setup will work. Any information on ...

Well I like to think I am good with the diaphragm (only the turkeys really know haha), its worked for me on a few occassions. I have shot s few with the shotgun, but would like to try the challenge of getting one with the bow, which I have taken quite a few deer with now. I just upgraded to a new bo...

Re: Next on list
Fish and Hunt, May I suggest a .204 Ruger? Great round for yotes, and every conceivable manufacture chambers it from bench/tactical platforms to ultra light synthetics. Thanks for the suggestion. I have been mulling over a few cartridge types and that is not one I had considered. I'll make sure I l...

Bow Hunting Turkey
Hey guys, I plan on bowhunting for turkeys this year and was wonderring who has bowhunted for turkeys before, and if so what type of heads you prefer (ie. fixed or expandables for body shots, or the bullhead, etc, for head shots) ? Also, for those of you who shoot compound, have you had any success ...

I have seen turkeys strutting this early before. I would say that if hens are getting bred early and nesting up, that it will be much easier to find a lonesome tom. One property I hunt has always had the problem of too many hens keeping the toms buisy. Perhaps this will be to our advantage this seas...
