You can always try Morels,they are delicous and easy to identify with its huge pore openings. Fiddleheads are out in this area. I was just thinking myself about trying some,never ate them before! Puffballs are also another good one to try,thinly sliced and fried in butter. Might find clubs on facebo...

Just got 18 from the Rideau,the warm wind really pushed them in the bays today. Upload some pics later this eve.

Nice to see Husky! Tried today on the lower Rideau lake but nothing yet. Literally watch 50 ft of ice slush dissapear within 5 minutes tho! Thinking soon myself..lots of bugs on water and tons of minnows in the locks!

Christie is awesome for smallies,never really got a largemouth from it. Deff alot of action near the marina! Tay river from it is good for walleyes late in the fall i find.

Fishing book appraisers?

I have a 3rd Print McClane's Standard Fishing Enclopedia written in 1964 by a now deceased editor of Field & Stream Magazine A.J. McClane, and currently awaiting on an appraisers reply. Just wondering if anyone here knows other book appraisers in this field of books? Bought it 10 yrs ago for $60...

Crappie Biting?

Wondering if any crappie are biting in the lower Rideau Lake area yet? Any open waters within that area worthwhile trying? Normally i go mid April but hoping can get out sooner.
