Thanks Todd, I know I have to many patterns I just can't resist trying to match the hatch when there are thousands of mayflies in the air. The panfish and bass poppers are great flies to have, and take more abuse than Tapps Bug.

Essential Ottawa and Rideau Flies?

Hey Guys and Ladies, I am trying my best to clean up my fly boxes, I love to tie all the interesting looking patterns, the British wets, all the complicated nymphs and the foam and deer bugs for bass and pike. Unfortunately, every year I have probably a hundred flies that get stored (Read: recycled ...

I do hope that showing some activity on this thread gets a swap started. I am currently trying to clean the ineffective patterns out of my fly boxes and would love some flies that work for others. I do understand from reading previous posts that woolly buggers (weighted and not), crystal scuds (purp...

I have either drilled holes for folks or lent the auger on the ice when there is an emergency. The only example I have is when some folks arrived at the locks and the guy with the auger hadn't shown up yet. I would suggest finding a member of FH to meet up with, most guys are looking for a fishin bu...

Hi I am looking for a place to grab some minnows before I head out on the weekend. Manotick Bait is my go to spot but I was wondering if there was any place towards Constance Bay to pick some up.... I heard of a guy on Carling? If anyone knows of a good spot please reply or PM me the details. Thanks B

Parking at Constance Bay

Hey folks,

I was just wondering if there is a place to park out at Constance Bay or Buckhams's Bay? I will be headed out there this weekend and would hate to waste my time driving around looking for access/parking when I could be fishing.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks. We will be renting a canoe and just fishing and canoeing in the days and hopefully have something to eat by the evening. I think I like the seclusion of Frontenac. I just wanted to know if there were fish around.

Frontenac or Charleston Lake

Hey, I have a boys weekend camping trip coming up in the end of September. I am trying to figure out where to go.

Frontenac Canoe Camping?
Charleston Lake?

Other places?

Where is the better fishing?

Thanks

Bass Love the Stealth Bomber.

This is an easy fly to build, customize and cast. Tried to prospect for some top water pike... ended up getting lots of attention from the bass and panfish. White with chartreuse belly and no legs was working today. I added doll eyes instead. I also love a leggy variation tied black and purple. http...

I was born in Nova Scotia and Dad fished salmon and sea trout every day in season, every tide. We learned to cast a fly rod at around 8 years old and it is just hard to get away from the fact that you just feel closer to the water when fly fishing, trying to match the hatch or chuck and duck.... Pik...
