What a great B-Day gift. I love the marks on those tigers I can't wait to get one myself. With the great population of both Pike and Muskie in the Ottawa you would think they would be a common catch. Anyone out there see any Tigers around here. I've only seen one.About 9 years ago near Vydon Acres ...

I've fished it quite a few times.Mostly has smallies on the small side, a few large mouths also fairly small and hammer handle sized pike. Not really much for the serious fisherman, but fun to fish with kids because of the abundance of small fish and it's safe water for a canoe.

For larger fish it would be a good idea to invest in a cradle, which is netting between 2 horizontal pieces of wood that fold sort of like a newspaper. This way you can keep the fish in the watter. For smaller pike and the like, a jaw-lock works very well. It's basically a a spring loaded claw that let...

I'm a yak fisherman as well.(Actually I'm sparky's son).It really is a great way to get around on the water. The only problem I have encountered when fishing from them is releasing larger pike, etc...However the last couple of years we've been carrying jaw-locks with us which can be a life saver(for ...

The north channel of Lake Huron has monster pike and is fairly sheltered so it can be fished with a smaller boat. It's about 45 minutes east of the Soo.Just take hgw.17 and get off at the St.Joseph's Island turn off. There is a marins at Richards Landind and one at Hilton Beach as well. The area around...

I don't care if they were old guys, I would have taken their license number and reported them. Isn't there a minimum size limit around here? There is a bad attitude around here what with ice fishing still allowed on small lakes and then these two old farts eating 3 inch trout. Once I saw an orienta...

When is the last time you saw a conservation officer? After reading Fishchaser's story it got me thinking.I personally haven't seen a CO in about a decade. The last time was at Burrit's Rapids in the mid 90's, although I did have one ask me and a buddy if we had seen any smoke while camping during a p...

I've fished Green lake quite a few times from shore and from a canoe.I've never had too much luck, a few small brookies but that's about it.It seems to be a fairly sterile lake with a lot of stunted rock bass and little vegitation. The person who mentioned fishing pressure was bang on.About 10 years ...
