I think your dad would rather you fix that motorbike in the garage and get it outta there. However, if you are still going to get a gps the Garmin series are very nice and available at crappy tire and such. They come on sale, there is a model that also holds the fish / game lunar tables. The other o...

I am left handed and am unable to reel with my right. Kudis to you all. I had to sell a nice bait caster b/c I couldn't us it.

I now have a left handed reel. Beware, I have yet to see a left handed baitcaster that sells for less then 120.00. The C3 Abu Garci; it is an amazing reel.

Cheers,

I'll add to my brothers post (MW). Apparently there is a fair opportunity for bass. Around islands and such. Pickeral is limited but I am told that some fair sized fish can be caught; where/when not sure. Lakers do exist is small numbers. Whitefish are fair. Do a search as there was a recent post wh...

the Freshmart in Lyndhurst (for all you Chalreston'ers) sell a single portion of salmon shrink wrapped on a piece of salmon. Cool idea I think. Too bad I don't eat salmon.

... MM is right. We usually fish 6am-10am and again at 3pm-6pm.

In respect to the downrigger singing; as I asked in the Great Lakes forum, has anyone noticed a negative effect for Lakers specifically?

Lake Clear has size restrictions as this lake had been over fished and a program implemented to re-develop the pickerel population. They closed it down for 5 years and re-opened the fishing 3 years ago. There are alot of pickeral there now. The slot ensure there will always be pickerel in the lake. ...

... friends of mine have cottages at Charleston. One of my buddies who heads up there with us has never caught a laker after a dozen tries. I would think that a downrigger that hums will do more to scare the fish than anything. I would tend to think it would scare them off. I could be wrong. Anyone ...

you could always keep an extra rod with a big bucktail on it. You could cast that pretty far at them.

I would suggest a spinning if you are making the move from a spincast. Baitcasters have a huge learning curve and a spinning will be quite easy. I still have problems casting with my baitcaster; don't take the time to learn all the time but I use it for trolling anyways. Next year I will get a small...
