casting / reeling
here's a wierd one...
when casting spoons for brook trout I let the spoon sink for a few seconds. How does the way I hold my rod affect the spoon. If I hold my rod vertically versus horizontally how does the spoons depth change?
Cheers,
Scott

One thing I have learned from various poeple in retail situations is that rods are not meant to be grabbed by the tip and flexed. Many makers have demonstrated a negative pattern in their ads; i.e. Ugly Stick. They will break. A fish will never bend a rod from tip to handle; that is why they say to ...

I have experience with the Sunrise and Excursion tents. Nice tents, good quality. They are inexpensive but do the job quite nicely. You should have good luck with either. If you want to do winter camping you may want something else but for most this tent will be fine. Never had problem with water or...

Ompah has good camping. It's first come first serve on some lakes. They even have wood at the firepits. Good trout lakes up there; Palmerston and Crotch. I went to Redhorse a couple of times for pickera. Also bass and pike. Check out here: http://www.mazinaw.on.ca/ Backwoods Mapbook has all the lake...

... the only one problem in this situation with a Cdn. Tire combo is that MuskieWannabe needs a left-handed reel. I am also alefty and have yet to see an inexpensive combo in left. However, I did make that recommendation to a friend who is a righty. Has anyone evey seen an inexpensive left-combo bef...

I have to disagree with you guys on the pickeral thing. My number one is trolling for pickerel. You got lots of line out compared to bass fishing; so the fights longer. When you got a nice pickeral on and heads deep and doesn't want to come up. Awesome. I do bass fish a bit from time to time but I l...

Markus, I replied to your earlier post notifying us of your plans. You actually drove passed us around 7:30 on Thursday. We were just as the lake opens up after coming out of Outlet. We were in a Lund Rebel; 2 guys trolling leadcore. Saw the 3 Fish-Hawk hats and figured it was you. Where about were ...
