LFL, in some cases it may not be the fishermen who are depleting the salmon numbers so closing the season will not have a heavy impact. The negative impact is coming from an non-native species. Slushpuppy, That's interesting to see published by the DNR. If they could net them all and move them; that woulb be a good thing. They could still allow those left behind to be caught but most importantly the bulk of the population would be kept. Depletion of the salmon numbers would be lost revenue...
