So I got my nmea cables and Ethernet cable all hooked up finally. Had to take the afternoon off. Kids and their sports keep me too busy. Anyway now my question is, how do I send the 5x waypoints and GPS coordinates? Is there a manual to step you through all that? Any help would be great.

You can also do it online and just print it out. That's what I did and it worked like a charm.

Thx Paul, I will keep my eyes open.Paul Shibata wrote:My recommendation would be to either sell your units and purchase G2`s or just purchase an additional Navionics card.

Re: Lowrance HDS-5 and HDS-5x
Pardon my ignorance but I did not know that. Paul thank you for taking the time and everyone else that has taken the time answering my questions. It is much appreciated. I'm very new to chart plotters as this is my first boat that has ever had one and would love to know when there might be another s...

Re: Lowrance HDS-5 and HDS-5x
Would 2 HDS-5 G1 networked together give you shared chart plotting via one navionics chip or do you require a G2 for that capability? Or is this a better question to ask Lowrance?

Re: Lowrance HDS-5 and HDS-5x
The roughly $150 Canadian ended being more like $200 Canadian before tax. Since I need to purchase a navionics card and let's say I get a new one since finding a used one seems difficult, what are the chances of picking up an HDS-5 gen 2 with navioncs, moving the HDS-5 gen 1 to the bow and t...

Re: Lowrance HDS-5 and HDS-5x
Thx Paul so for roughly $150 or so canadian dollars I can have both units connected. So what would the HDS-5x unit look like with just way points, would it look like the HDS-5 when you remove the navionics chip? This definitely looks doable. Any good places in Canada that sell this stuff that you ca...

Lowrance HDS-5 and HDS-5x
Hi All, Just bought myself a new boat and it came with these two units. I know for certain that the HDS-5 (console) is a gen1 and pretty sure the HDS-5x (bow) is also gen1. Now being the computer geek that I am I was doing some research and it seems that both of these units have software that can be...

Eye repair
So I was out with the kids a few weeks ago for some perch. I was using a reel that was spooled with braid and attached a perch rig to it. Well I got a fair sized perched, pulled it up and the line broke. Hmm I said to myself. Retied everything again casted out and then noticed when I would reel in i...

Regs on Walleye
So correct me if I am wrong, but what I get from the regs in zone 18 for walleye is that you can only keep them if they are between 40-50 cm correct or am I reading that wrong?

Speed and temp sensor location
Afternoon all,
Picked up a Lowrance Mark 5x pro from a buddy and installing it now. It came with a temp and speed sensor, I was just wondering where the best place would be to install it. Do I install it next to the transducer, or on the other side of it? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Quick question
So if I put a 2x2 chunk on the outside and a 2x2 chunk on the inside and bolt those together with marine adhesive it will not work? Apart from the hole there doesn't seem to be any real issues with the transom.

Re: Quick question
Ok, so as long as I put some sort of barrier between the stainless steel plate and the boat I should be ok. One more question, it looks like the motor does not fall flush with the transom as there is a lip at the top where the clamps are on the boat. Would i cause a lot of damage if I were to cut a ...

Quick question
So I was changing my trailer lights this past weekend to some new submersible led kind. I raised the motor up and for some reason saw something that made no sense to me. It seems where the motor bolts to the transom, the bolts have gone right through. I have a 16foot aluminum grumman. So my plan is ...
