Sturgeon Lake is a fun lake to fish in Sept . Good numbers of Muskie , bass and Walleye . Several rocky shoals for smallies and plenty of weeds for Muskies . I sent you a email . Talk to you latter

Thanks Ed I heard they have some Big Smallies there and have a bunch of Bass tournaments in Sept . I helped a couple NY guys with info on Sturgeon and Pigeon Lake they sent me a map with areas to try for Muskies they have fished a lot the last several years . It should help us boat a couple .

Hi Everyone
My son and I can't make our fall trip to Canada this year because of the border being closed . So we are going to try a lake in NY , Lake Chautauqua it has a good population of Muskies . Has any body on this board fished it ? We are going Oct 3 . Thanks for the help

We do some trolling while Muskie fishing . Like what was said earlier good leader we use longer ones because of muskies rolling up and getting cut by the braid . 65 0r 80 lb braid . We use 10" Jakes and Believers plus you should have some crank baits that get down deeper on the river. Good Luck...

The Smallmouth have been hitting pretty good on Balsam . They had a Bass tournament last Saturday they did well . My son and I are coming up this weekend to stay on Balsam for a week of Muskie fishing . Balsam can get rough but like you said there is Grand Island and if its coming out of the west Long Point will block it in South Bay also Hogg and Ball Islands farther north .
