Lots of views but zero comments?
What a great fishing report, Jim.
I haven’t fished the big lake yet, but definitely reports like yours are educational and motivating.
Please keep posting.
Tight lines.

Re: fave ice fishing lures

Hi Levitch, There is hundreds if not thousands of different lures that one can simply get lost in. Kind of a kid in a toy store feeling:) Your question can be better answered if you tell us where and what you are going to fish for. Little Cleo is a great lure for an open water salmon fishing, in gen...

Re: Lakemaster or Navionics

Thank you lape0019. I'll be going with the Navionics maps as they have been proven accurate and look for the hidden humps with the new Humminbird SI sonar:)
Appreciate your help.

Lakemaster or Navionics

Hello fallow anglers, I am looking to upgrade my fish finder for a Humminbird Helix, likely series 7 SI G3. The question I have is whether to go with the Lakemaster or Navionics maps. Looking at other people's posts and videos, the opinions are split. Given that I am mainly fishing locally around Ot...

Re: ice condition below Long Island lock on the Rideau

Hi,

I was out there last Sunday with my son. We caught a bunch of perch and a small pike. Nothing exciting but fun place for youngsters to get a feel for the ice. Lots of ice in the first half of the bay.

Re: Ice conditions at muskrat lake

Hi there, just to add to the last post; I believe Laker Taker made a typo with the ice thickness. It is only about 6-7 inches of ice, mostly solid, with addition of inconsistant snow cover. It is also important to note that there was lots of water sitting in between the ice and snow, making fishing ...

Re: Ice conditions at muskrat lake

Fishin Mission,

thank you for the info. One can never be too careful on the ice. We always check the ice conditions as we advance unless it is obvious that conditions are safe and other folks are fishing in the distance.
Much appreciated.

Re: Ice conditions at muskrat lake

Has anyone fished from the campground side yet? With this cold snap I trully hope ice is good all accross the lake. It would be nice to have an update on the ice condition.

Stay warm!
