Not quite the opener,.. I was there last Tuesday. Lots of boats early and a few boats landed some walleye that we saw. Mid day we fished pike and bass and got some good fish. Then back to the walleye area for dinner bite and we got a few nice 18 to 20 inchers.

Re: Boat batteries
Research "battery combiner" or charge/charging relay. I've used ones from BLu Sea and Keyline. They all work the same. Charging the trolling battery is not too common,.. more for the house/electronics. Maybe one of the companies offering these products has something similar that does more ...

Re: Browns Bay launch closed
I used Mallory all last year so I'm not sure if you mean open this year "again",.. as I'm no sure when it was closed. No mention of anything closed except some camp sites so I expect it is good to go. https://www.pc.gc.ca/en/pn-np/on/1000/activ/experiences/plaisanc-boater Cardinal (east or...

Re: Jock River water levels
I drive by a few times a week. I'd say they look normal considering the low rain and melt off this year. Nothing to prevent shore fishing and/or launching kayaks and canoes. If shore fishing, bring your rubber boots. Edges are muuuddy.

Re: MUSKY ROD AND REEL COMBO
a few thoughts: That Penn combo (if it's the one I think it is) might get you by for a few trips per year. And it's a trolling setup so casting would be limited. Starter gear for muskie is always a tough nut as the gear is expensive but it needs to weighed against how much time you commit. But botto...

Re: Walleye / Crotch Lake / Perth area
Welcome. I can't speak to lakes in the area but the major (larger) Walleye waters would be Ottawa and St. Lawrence (I goto Prescott) Rivers and of course, the bay of Quinte.

I've have a few older Humminbird Units (love them) and been on a friends boat who have Humminbird Mega on huge unit. MEGA this MEGA that,.. pretty cool. Can't say much about Lowrance. I have just switched to Garmin on my boat for this season. I use the 9x Echomap from the boat for ice as well. Based...
