Re: Hudson River...Striper Beginnings.
Pretty cool, those are some nice looking fish, and new PB's for you both I am assuming? It's amazing how stained that water is really, good call on the body baits for the ease of homing in on them. Definitely on the list for me at some point (what fish isn't?) 8) How long was the drive for you guys?

What an incredible catch!
I used to have that old plano tacklebox in the one photo so it's a great reference point...that fish is a tank!

Nothing I have ever caught would compare with the fight on the Sailfish...The Blue Shark battle out East was just pure heavy brute strength as they can use their massive pectoral fins like big planer boards under water...you simply can't budge those fish. I remember sweating my butt off and the vein...

Not your traditional May 24 weekend for me this year... I decided to hit some new water off the Yucatan coast in Mexico, and it paid off big time! 94" Sail  https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-tIZlfK-wt8g/VVpNq9CA9WI/AAAAAAAAOX8/t3rQN4RR6EI/w487-h865-no/20150518_085336.jpg https://lh6.goo...

Re: Best Polarized Sunglasses?
I wanted to mention for anyone who wears contacts or just gets dry eyes in the wind, I have found these to be the most amazing sunglasses as they have a unique foam gasket that blocks all light and wind from getting in the sides or top of the frames. http://www.wileyx.com/index.aspx I will not go ba...

Fishing on a school night - Kings and Lakers still rolling
It's great to have evening light again at this time of year, creating weeknight fishing opportunities close to home. For me, that's Lake Ontario if you haven't guessed by now :D I was fortunate enough to get out for a couple hours on Tuesday and Last night. The fishing seems to be waning slightly co...

Re: Gorgeous Weekend - Slamming fish on Lake O.
All were released to be enjoyed by someone else, but many do in fact enjoy eating them, even the 15-20 pounders. We were just looking for 1 really big derby fish, and enjoying ourselves while weeding through the little ones

Gorgeous Weekend - Slamming fish on Lake O.
It's great to have my boat back in full working condition now. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-oGK8oV5wD5E/VUW2_jSofFI/AAAAAAAAN3A/6377qKvPdpU/w1044-h587-no/20150502_055945.jpg I was able to repay Glen and get him out with me as well as Aaron who has his own issues with his boat at the moment. While a long haul for Eastern Ontario folks...don't forget about Lake Erie tributaries guys. Here is my PB from a few years ago - 21.5lbs :icon-eek: https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-HJQgc5EFZOI/ThyLA2FyTEI/AAAAAAAAJ4w/Wpw34ygpVeg/w800-h600-no/21.36lbs.jpg Freshwater sharks is what I call them, the...

Say that 5 times fast! :D With my boat out of commission still I was able to join a friend Glen on his boat for the day on Lake Ontario in search of Kings. He had another buddy coming with him as well, so we would be able to run 6 rods and really increase our chances of success. We headed out to the...

Re: New MNR Stocking Proposal - Wellington/Sandbanks
Anyway to summarize that ? I haven't the slightest clue ... what's good / what's bad, 5W's etc. The biggest change that will affect the far East as I call it, is the stocking that occurs closer to Kingston. They are proposing moving those Steelhead away, as they are smolting out the St Lawrence! Th...

I don't see the benefit of early season bass...As most know, they will literally remove anything from their beds to protect their eggs/fry..how can you call that a rewarding catch?? When they aren't there to protect (while they are being fought and landed) you get all kings of critters that will rai...

Re: The Grease Trap - Lake Ontario's finest
Thanks guys! I'm at the other end of the lake from most of you, but the techniques are all the same. 8) Unfortunately after talking to the shop, the earliest I can get the Lund in to get serviced is April 27th! ack! 2 whole weekends without RippleEffect being 100% :o I am hoping it's something simpl...

The Grease Trap - Lake Ontario's finest
This past weekend was the shakedown cruise on Lake O. for RippleEffect, my Lund ProV. Despite the South Shore of the lake from Jordan Station to Niagara-on-the-Lake holding the right ingredients for early season salmon and trout (water warmth and color) I stayed somewhat local and targeted the early...
