Re: quebec license non resident

As a die hard fly-fisher I can hardly wait for the spring to get my Zec on! I love it that they close their lakes during the winter, and their bait restrictions, it makes for better fishing opportunities. So, I have four months to practice my casting and tie up some irresistible flies!

Re: Brook Trout Report. uhm stream??

Hey Cgates, I got the same impression, which was mentioned by another member. What I neglected to consider was the relatively easy access of the lake. It's well stocked, but there's quite a population nearby, and I'm used to frequenting lakes that more out of the way. As Chevy's posting attests, the...

Re: Brook Trout Report. uhm stream??

Update on today's outing. Decided to try Limestone. Ran late, but was on the water by 9:30. There were a few lightly surfacing, and a couple splashes, but aside from a light take, it was uneventful. Tough day on the water. I think it has to do with the line I was using, it's an intermediate, and my ...

Re: after years of trecking through the bush....

Since I'm about an hour and a half from most of these lakes, I'm curious if there's any in particular that would be recommended? Sorry for posting a similar question on two threads, but tomorrow may be my last fly fishing outing this season. In particular, I'm considering Blithfield Long L, Limeston...

Re: Brook Trout Report. uhm stream??

Is Mair's Lake, Limestone, or Blithfield ice free? Are they all accessible by car? I'm trying to decide on which to head towards.

Re: after years of trecking through the bush....

It's cliche, but all I can say is wow, just wow! Those are the sort of thing fly-fishing dreams are made of! I can't wait to start discovering what those hills might reveal. I've done the hour long hike, gear strapped to a bike, and walking it in, it's about the only means I have to get gear into ar...

Re: Brook Trout Report. uhm stream??

In the interest of embarking on some adventures, does anyone recommend a particular map website? I've found MapCarta to be fairly accurate when seeking out lakes up around Stonecliffe and Mackey, and it seems to provide reliable info for the Calabogie area, however, there seems to be quite a few tra...
