Re: Boats? What do you drive? Im Looking for a new one
Lund's warranty is far from what it seems... Long story short my 2006 lund 16' side console was leaking over a gallon per hour by 2010, that bilge pump worked way too hard... Finally diagnosed the problem as corroded rivets in 2014 I believe, tried to have it fixed under warranty and was charged a p...

Re: Eating cats
Good eating. Anyone have a good tip on killing them? I've been keeping less of them since being disturbed one too many times, tough fish...
I'll also add there seems to be an extremely healthy population of these guys on the ottawa river, I would never feel bad keeping a limit if I wanted to.

Re: Any YouTube fishing channels watchers here?
I've spent way too much time watching Youtube fishing/outdoors channels! Way too many to list. Uncut angling is great, also a smaller one that I've watched grow from a few hundred subscribers to over 50,000 is Sea-money fishing, lots of good content there. I also have my own channel I've been workin...

Haha! This is actually great advice...Out4trout wrote:Go late on a Sunday, with no snowfall, after a weekend of others fishing. Follow ATV tracks and footprints, Look for blood on the ice around recent holes.
Fish seem oddly attracted to blood on the ice.

Re: How to Determine an Ice Fishing Spot? (Question)
You're on to something... Keep looking for structure of any kind, put in the leg work try new spots give more promising spots more chances, different bait, presentations, time of day etc... There are a lot of good honey holes out there waiting to be found.

Re: Coordless drill/auger info
I wrecked my 8" auger drilling holes with my 18v makita... Probably did 200+ holes that season though! Faster than gas. Got about 10-20 holes per charge iirc... in the thick stuff. Then I got to redrilling holes in the ice shack, thats probably where I went wrong...

Re: Lake Access through a Hunting camp
I can't see how driving an atv through and launching a canoe would make a lick of difference to the success of their hunt. I'm sure most would have no problem. In the area I hunt most camps are doing drives or running dogs anyway. Most stands would be far enough away from the camp/trail that an atv ...

Re: Best reel for lures other than baitcasting
Pfleuger presidents are probably the best spinning reels for the money based on what I've read. I finally picked one up this year for my new dropshot set up and I'm upset with myself for waiting so long to get one! Very good reel for $70 or so.

I've trolled that stretch with downriggers many times chasing the legend of lakers being in there... Tried a lot of different things, trolling atleast, spoons, cranks, spinners with worms, spinners with minnows, slow, moderate speed.... Only thing I ever caught was an 8 inch sauger down 75 feet. I've...

Re: Goosin'!!
Good stuff! I'm on my second year of duck hunting, learned a lot last year and am hoping to put a beat down this year. Goose seems like a lot of fun, they never want to come check out my duck decoys though, but its cool watching the odd one try to pull away from the flock when I start blowing a goos...

No doe tag for this guy, went for 64A and 58... May end up focusing more on ducks instead of bow season this year.

My buddy caught one in my boat not 5 hours ago aswell! A big one too. Freaky thing, wasn't fun to deal with but was really cool to experience. We were also targeting catfish.

Well I'll be fishing lac deschenes so there isn't much of that, there are however a few very clear channels that are on my list to try out.
