There is also Pete's bait in Wendover. Chemin du Quai, I believe.
Phone 613-673-1603. I buy from him all the time. Nice bait and a nice guy.

Re: Bait Shop Around Casselman
The closest thing to a bait shop in your area would likely be J & L(I think) gun repair in Embrun.
It's a small shop by the Castor river that does repairs, sells hunting supplies, ammo, etc. located on Notre Dame in Embrun.
You should be able to google a phone number.
Hope that helps.

winter lakers accessible by car
Hi folks. I am looking for someplace to target lakers through the ice that would be accessible by car. I've found a number of them through Fish ON-line but I would like to know if there are maintained roads before heading out as I don't have an off-road vehicle. I'm not looking for your hotspots, ju...

Re: Is Oziles Open for bait?
I spoke to someone earlier this week in regards to the road work. They are nowhere near finished but didn't think to ask about the bait.
Give them a call. You'll likely have to leave a message but someone will get back to you.

Re: Access to Petrie
I've heard something like Dec 28TH for work completion. I've also tried calling and left messages, but no call back.
A little disappointed

Re: A quick question about the Castor River
I think what you've heard bout the Castor is correct. I've caught multiple species myself.
The ones I've caught are carp, various suckers, crappie, sm bass, perch, sunfish, catfish, drum, and even the odd pike.
Hope that helps.

Re: A question about flies
Your Canadian tire job will do just fine. Given a little practice I am sure you will be pleased with it. Scarkner is correct as there are no special regs, but avoid the oos species. In my area we are limited to two flies (or hooks) at a time, but I can't imagine trying to cast more than that. Take y...
