Hey Waterfowler, you're right, urban fishing 'hot-spots' to tend to stack up with litter: worm containers, fishing line, cigarette butts and god knows what else... It is rediculous and needs to change.
But I think forums like fish-hawk are great ways of reducing that problem, it creates a certain amount of accounability because it gives us all a name and a face that's known to local anglers. So if you talk to a fh'r on the bank, when they leave they aren't going to leave a bunch of crap because they have a reputation to uphold here.
I think the same can be said for resource exploitation, if you see an fh'r fishing over his limit, fishing for fish OOS, or generally being a jackass, most of us would call them out on the web-site.
F-H not only lets us connect with other anglers, it reduces some of the anonymity that can lead to misuse of the resource.
I would encourage people though, when someone posts a spot online, it's only courtesy to them (and to the fish) not to go and keep a limit of whatever you can catch. These areas are subject to over-exploitation and we can all have fun if we CPR.
I'm sorry for being so preachy lately, but that seems to be the way this thread is going.

Though I think Waterfowler may have went over the line a few times....I think he simply was upset to see one of his regular spring fishing holes suddenly after years of not seeing many people fish there get a barrage of people there...then have it posted for everyone else to come join as well...which includes the white bucket guys that everyone fears so much...

It has become a joke, I simply pointed out that you were fishing w/out permission...which you were until you probably asked some restaurant mgr at the club if 2 guys can park and fish the propoerty....so now EVERYONE is allowed..lol...comical.
Doesn't erase the fact you could have had a firm no from the members. Most wouldn't let it happen. There is a 40 km stretch of shoreline to fish panfish from between there and Merrickville.
I see you are in the west end, if by chance we cross paths on the water, you can try to insult me there...see how that works ...here is easier, your cyber crew can get your back.
