almontefisher wrote:Bass-hunter..I will stay with the topic...Bass have those "spikes" yes all do but the larger the fish the bigger they get...As for the tail it is about the right size...Now as for the weight this is where you should not have gone. Whatever weight you think it is is what it is...You will get every response in the book for weights so don't ask that unless you are ready for the comments. Now as for the other comments I do agree with....you hold the bass like BA and 24/7 away from the body which makes it look bigger...Only difference is their fish are big sometimes...And the neck angle does look like it stinks or something and it does look painful or funny. Sorry...we all have our bad camera days and this was one of those shots. I know I have a few
Thanks for your input. But whats the big deal about holding the bass?
We want to get the fish in the water a.s.a.p. right we just hold it and take a pic, and i was fishing in thurso so maybe it was stinking. Lol
People feel that when you hold a bass as far away from you and as close to the camera as you did it makes it look bigger then it is...Think of the person who takes a picture of the leaning tower of Pisa and is holding it up with one hand...Looks real enough but we know its not. Or catching a 1lb bass and holding it close to the camera and making it look like 4lbs
Keep the fish close and the size will not be debated as much
Thanks for the advice.Another good way to know the size of the bass is the tail and fins compares to ones hand or finders. You can tell by the fins this is not a 1 pound fish, and i weighed it with a digi scale. So I know the weight, thats all that matters but knowing the guesses of other anglers is fun
