another panfish report

Post by Eli »

Went back to the Carleton Golf & Yacht this morning, hoping to improve my sorry performance there this past Sunday. Mission accomplished. 8) Got about 40 panfish in total, with the majority being bluegill and pumpkins but also a few perch and crappie.
Also got three of these:

I'm relatively sure they're golden shiners.
Live waxworms on a 1/64oz jig were the ticket to today's success. Having the bank to myself was definitely a welcome change from Sunday's circus.

Tomorrow, the carp rod comes out :D

glad to see your getting some peace & quite while rearin Wolfman.
We had the lake to ourselve last night.
I'm afraid we will not this weekend ,but i have a few other secluded lakes that should be coming on now.

Here's how it went last night.
Where to start. My head is still spinning.
<img src="http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h209/ ... ies009.jpg">
OK I got it,bagged work at 3 bells .My son and Dad & I hit my hole for what I thought would be good ,but so so.
Image

I was soooooo wrong!
We caught 100's of fish.
Image
The bass were coming..Do I love those fighters,my son does too!
Image
Image
Image

The water was 50 on the nuts and we were work 2-4 feet of water.
You can tell that the water is warming, look at how black the males are getting.
Image
T.H.E. jig was working really well.
Too well ,I caught another bass after I do not know how many I reared on & snapped off.I know I should have retied ,but I had more.
Well anyway I switched to loby's Drag-n Mags & never skipped a beat.
Image
They inhaled that plastic like no tommorow.Like it was there last meal.
I strapped on the Drag-n Mag onto a 32nd oz jig that was white with orange eyes and a collar.
Image
I know the 1st one caught 30 fish and was in the mood for more ,but like earlier I had more & a pike snipped it off.
Well I retied in about 45 seconds and went back to drilling them again.
To be honest I'm glad I sent them home with the 20 we kept &as my arms hurt & this post is draing what I have left.Sure is nice to not have to clean fish.
had to leave a few for seed anyway.

Image

I had Sunday open yet & I asked if those two giggling girls wanted some more abuse.I think you know the answer to that.
I also got a firm handshake and a wink from pops,so cool.

As we drove back across the lake I looked back to say goodnight , this is what she said back.

See ya soon!

And to think this is private property.. pretty sad. 30 trespassers there last weekend we saw, and people go on here and have the nerve to post the name of the property they trespassed and fished on..lol..too funny.

Ahh the good old internet. If you want to fish that area..invest in a damn boat! I'm sure the course members would appreciate that.

OH YES! I completely forgot to mention that I was fishing right under the giant 'private property' sign, and casting not into the water but about 600 feet the other way over the clubhouse and onto the green!!
Yeah, next time you're having trouble with your swing you can just blame the guy standing in the bushes fishing for crappy.

I guess you missed my point.

That being, you were on private property. Members parking lot-I am sure you used as did all the other hoardes of freeloaders I saw there last week.

Advertising the spot on the internet like it is a public spot is not only a bad idea if you want to enjoy a nice day out( if it is public property), but also as I saw last week a great way to litter the brushlines in worm containers and lunch wrappers and fouled mono line.

You will probably be back..lol..as will the rest of the yahoos I saw. I imagine someone will make a call this time around. Private property should be respected.

OK waterfowler, let me clear a few things up for you.
Yes, private property should be respected, but more importantly private property should be marked as private! If I have someone tell me that they've been fishing a certain spot for several consecutive springs and not have them mention anything about being told they were trespassing, I'm not going to just assume they were! I'm sorry that I named the exact location, but I don't think it makes much of a difference seeing as how 4 other reports about it went up just this past week.

You make a good point about trash being left behind. It's a shame that some anglers can't be bothered to clean up after themselves. I, for one, always do and I usually also pick up any trash in the immediate vicinity that others left behind. Unfortunately, what I can't pick up is the thousands of liters of chemical poison that golf courses (private property) discharge into our rivers (very public property) annually.

You seem to have some pretty strong opinions. Strong enough to call me a clown and call the other anglers yahoos and freeloaders. Interesting that you didn't come up and say anything of the sort to any of us in person. Gotta love those anonymous internet user names. Don't you know that in a debate, the first person to resort to personal insults automatically loses?

I guess I have to go buy some private property signs....wouldn't want anybody setting up a picnic in my backyard....

How anyone could think this was public property astounds me....you are parking in a businesses parking lot...or on the grass from what I've heard...walking across their grass to the bank....

Though I've never fished the spot personally..I know a few who do....and sadly I think it'll be over soon...I've played the course dozens of times...and they are high society folk...and the last thing they'll allow is 30 people littering their property...

There are dozens of other spots fellas....

Joke-O

Post by waterfowler »

Joke-o,
Chum,
That was an exceptionally hard read, but I think I got the gist of it after a few cracks,
Let me get this straight,
You are defending the swarm of"fishHawkers" who have decended on a mediocre crappie hole that has easy access. Right?
It is clearly marked Carleton Golf and Yacht Club! No PRIVATE PRPOERTY signs required for those who understand the Queens English. No grey area, after you have parked in a members parking lot, or the club maintenance area.

Below is a copy and paste of your babbling:

AS for you waterfowler....(are you the owner or related to him or have is saying about all this,,,,?)...I was there last week for one night..i did park in a parking at least that it was look like and did not let any garbage on the land. ( NOPE! BUT I KNOW MANY MEMBERS THERE)
and again your saying...((If you want to fish that area..invest in a damn boat! I'm sure the course members would appreciate that.)))

HO ARE you to tell people to invest in a boat to go fish that section....i got more boat then you can think off,,and still love shore fishing..and i alway will.if i want to go fish anywhere and i got the permition i will go for it. (DID YOU HAVE ANY PERMISSION??...REALLY DOUBT THAT.!!) THE WATER IS PUBLIC IN THE BAY, USE ONE OF YOUR MANY BARGAIN BIN BOATS AND FISH THE HECK OUT OF IT IF YOU LAUNCH AT A PUBLIC AREA.)

and there was so many empty parking there .there was almost no golfer there this pas weekend at least wen i was there...so its not the fishermans that was taking all the spot. (WHO CARES..IT'S A PRRIVATE COURSE/PROPERTY)!!!!

calling people all yahoo...........dont think so bud.I WOULD SUDJEST ''YOU''NOT TO CALL PEOPLE NAMES.....i was one of those you saw ,,and i dont like to be call anything. . (LIKE I CARE...JEESH)

dont put all fisherman in the same basquet.

I might go again its a nice place and will go see the owner and ask him ...about the land and if its ok to go there.(i wont go by other saying).(even if it was ok). (ASK FOR THE PRO-HE'D JUST LOVE THAT !)

IF its private it those have to be respested. (IT IS)

if he those those ( ????) NOT want fishermans to go,,,,put some sign..(WHY???????) .hey if its what it need(sometime this is the way to go,,unfortunately) ........was there 3 hours nobody come to see us to say anything.

AND AS FOR YOUR CATCH AND RELEASE BS....THERE WERE MANY NEW ARRIVALS THERE WITH 75-100 FISH OF WHATEVER SWIMS IN 5 GALLON PAILS!!!! DO YOUR HOMEWORK JOKE-O.

Bottom line,

Find public places for your "hot reports", is it just me, or is this becoming a massive joke? 10 years ago I never saw so much litter and overfishing and depletion of certain areas, now every semi secluded spot has some newbie taking digital pics and posting it 5 minutes after he gets in the door.
Is it cyber-bragging to a bunch of people you will never even meet, or know? Is this what the angling fraternity has evolved into?....If so, that is sad! Get out there and fish, take your close buddies, but don't spoil it for the people who work hard and love the sport!!! I'm sure the guys that designed this site had loftier goals than that. Kudos to them, they go out and fish and meet people on the water and help charity, and that is great!

I don't think they meant for an internet message board to evolve into a free for all with no regard for established spots or local people., I really don't!~

I am out.
