Skunk ottawa
I was fishing for Pike specifically. Slow rolling spinnerbaits and slow cranking cranks.
I suspect a jig or some live bait may have worked better but I was eager to get casting.

Ottawa river is a zone in itself, Zone 12 opens May 16. the friday before the 3rd Sat in May.
Could of cost you a bit!!
But the worst thing is that according to this posting of last week, you were told that the Ottawa river at Blair wasn't opening this weekend.

There seems to be quite a few threads so far this spring that pertain to open season for one specie or another and the confusion surrounding them. Obviously the government has not made it any easier for the recreational angler to understand the regulations.
So here's an eathshattering idea that may help before any of you(lurkers included) wet a line:
Quadruple check the regs or even put in a call with the MNR to get absolute clarification BEFORE YOU GO FISHING!!!!!!! Not after the fact..

OR.......maybe fordson is a troll and here to stir the pot........
But yes, open the regs.......
Had I opened the regs before Turkey hunting this year, I would have know that you can now hunt until 7:00pm instead of 12:00pm. So I'm guilty myself for not reading the regs, but at least I was not breaking any laws....

Not a troll and don't like trolling much either
Fishing guys, espically Canadians are supposed to be friendly. If I did something illegal by being on the river this weekend then so be it.
The book is not clear. Period.
I wrote expecting something other than most notes I recieved.
Maybe writing was a mistake based on how some people seemed to take the posting...

You should be inclined to do the right thing and leave this up so that the situation will have some thought provoking value to the thread.
My previous post merely pointed to the amount of threads lately about the regulations and it would be a fabulous suggestion to read the regs' before people decide to wet a line.....nothing more....nothing less.

Honest error, or not. There is no flaming, bashing, name calling, etc. going on here. There is no reason to remove this thread. If you do, so be it. But then what's the purpose of a discussion board with no discussion.Andy_L wrote:hey guys....benefit of the doubt here ok? I think it was an honest mistake and lets treat it as such....yes its easy to say OPEN the regs...but it CAN be confusing. If i have to remove this i will, just don't want to as i do think it was an honest error
Andy
The point is, he was told on another thread that it was not open. Therefore it can not be an honest mistake.
Anyways..... Just my 2 cents.............if they don't get deleted.
