I had to track down FreshWater Phil's website. After visiting it my question is this....What is everyone gettin' so upset over? He has broken no laws.
Is everyone so high and mighty in here that someone can't eat a legally caught fish without an attack on his character?
Catch it, clean it, eat it...........................Oh my god..........the sky is falling.
The guy shares his catch with the "unfortunate". I don't know about you, but I'd have to be pretty destitute to be excited about getting carp given to me. Some one please tell me what's wrong with this?
Now I do not wish to cause controversy for the sake of it, but I do have a question that really never has been answered. Since I was a kid fishing on the Detroit River, we understood carp and suckers to be garbage fish that would eat the eggs of sport fish such as bass and pickerel. So we use to bury our catch or dispose of it. The last few years has seen carp rise to the mantel of a sport fish. Do they not take over a pond or small lake if left to themselves, or do they live in harmony with other game fish.

Not sure about small ponds but they have existed in the St Larry and Ottawa River for ever and both of these fisheries have good Walleye and Bass populations, as well as Perch, Pike, Muskie, etc......
Carp may be an ugly looking fish for some and for other knowing that it feeds on the bottom for crap may not be pleasurefull and good to eat. But as many of you know as a fatty fish, once smoked (as an example) it is comparable to other fatty smoked fish (e.g., salmon, lake trout, etc.) and very nutritional.
I did not see the blog to comment on what what said or shown.
