I Googled to find this http://jenda.com/store/content/83/Derby-Rules-2015/ which seems to be the info for last year so I assume the same structure. Good info for those of use who are new to the game.

One odd question that plagues me when reading about the KAAO. Why is an association that seems to be based and rooted on the Ontario side, named for a region in Western Quebec?

The Outaouais is the national capital region.
As we are so close to Quebec it was named Outaouais in order to include both Provences.

And yes the info you found was for previous yes previous years tournament. However it will be 90% the same.

Not to get into a debate but the Outaouais is most definitely not the NCR any more than Ottawa is the NCR. While I hate citing wiki, this sums it up pretty nicely. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outaouais

It's funny you should bring it up Stopper, I'm a member and it kind of dawned on me the other day that Outaouais doesn't include Ottawa, which I don't believe was the intention when it was named.

It's shaping up to be a great club though, with a good number of like-minded kayak anglers already. I know there's multiple members planning on doing some social fishing outings as well this year, anyone who's interested should come out.

I've been meaning to come out for the meetings even though I don't have a kayak as of yet but the tournament should be a great time for sure..

If you want to partisapate and don't have a yak no problem jendas will have yaks to rent cheep the days of the tournament.
