HI
So I'm waiting for my PAL (mailed the forms on Monday), and have started shopping (mostly online). I was hoping to compile a short, or long, list of the local gun shops (beside the obvious LeBaron's).
I know of:
Marstar (Vankleek Hill)
Sports Action (St-Laurent Blvd)
That Hunting Store (Richmond)
There must be more...?

Don't forget Norris's in West Port if you dont mind the drive. You should have some time to look around. I sent my papers away last year around the start of October and didn't get them back until just before December.

Found this site:

...should answer all my questions. I believe all gun dealers have to be registered on this site (or with gov't).

Bruce Ford in Smiths Falls....
Has always been cheaper than any store I have been to and being a gunsmith he'll service anything he sells....
Find out what you want and then order it through him.
I'd suggest Browning or Tikka for rifles.
add Gun Mart in Brockville

It sure is nice to walk into a shop and be on a first-name basis.
Bennett's is my first choice. Norris is good too, I just have more experience with Bennett's. Support the local family run shops - in return they support their customers. Win-Win!!
Shaun and Wayne both shoot straight & will look after ya. Larry is a good guy too.
(no, I'm not affiliated - just a happy customer)

I agree with supporting the local shops. The closest gun shop for me has always been belleville but i know people who say great things about Norris'. I just bought a new bow last fall and bought it in Peterborough (where i go to school) at Saugeen Shafts. Not close for most people on here, but they make sure you walk away with a bow at the cheapest price and they have lanes there and let you shoot til your comftorbale that it is sighted in. I will have no problem making the two hour drive up there in the future.
