Here's a short video from one of my coyote snare pens last fall. As I approached I could see I had a young deer by the hoof....no problem, he'll be on his way in a minute. A I got closer, I noticed a second critter in a neighboring snare.

Now that is strange for sure. So I guess the big question is. What came first, the deer or the yote?

Cheers

I'm going with the deer. lol That coyote was likely the "scariest" looking dog I took last year. He had a very hard look in his eye and he was a deer killer for sure. That spot is near a major series hwy and i'm sure the coyotes in that area are used to injured/dead critters from the highway. That yote likely heard that deer bleat and came straight for a meal. He was 52lbs.....2nd largest i got last year.

Hans county area by chance in NS? That's where my dad hailed from.

Well I will say it again Markus, totally loving the posts.

My dad uses to trap as a kid, in Hans County, and recall a story of him having a mink bite his thumb and he literally had to walk home with it and his dad or great uncle whacked it on the head to kill it and get it off.

Kinda beats the ol' I walked 60 miles to school stories. Lol

He is long gone, sadly, as now that I am older I would listen a lot closer to some of his tales as a young guy!
