Lac Otter

Just like the Ontario Map Project, the Quebec Fishing Map Project features various bodies of water in the province of Quebec, which can be downloaded here, and used to find some potential honey holes.

Lac Otter

Post by Bobber »

Have you fished this body of water or know any details about it?
- Description
- Boat Launch Information
- Species List
- or anything else...

Tell us about it, and I'll update the project.

is this the same otter lake ,as in the village of otter lake/ north of fort coulonge? If so,I had a family cottage on that lake in the 70's and it was an awesome walleye lake, especially where it is fed from the picinoc river. It is also a very deep lake and lakers abound.

Otter Lake is about one kilometer or more to the north of the Village of Otter Lake you are referring to. The lake in the village of Otter Lake is named Farm Lake (has islands on it). And it's north of Campbell's Bay (between Fort Coulonge and Shawville).

Hi, the lake in the village of Otter Lake, is Farm Lake. The village is between Campbell's Bay and Danford Lake, not north of Fort Coulonge. It holds Rainbow, Speckle and Brown Trout, Pickerel, Pike & Small Mouth according to the ministry. Heading back to Campbell's Bay you pass McCuaig which holds Lakers. Otter Lake is north of Otter Lake Village up the Picanoc Road and holds Pickerel, Pike and Smallies. Trout? No mention by the ministry!
It is called Lac a la Loutre>
Hope this helps.

Hello again.
That Lake you have posted by the way is McCuaig not Otter!
See Google Earth - 45*52' 24.02"N by 76*25' 43.75"W that is Otter Lake.

I should of expressed myself more specifically. i.e., Campbell's Bay (between Fort Coulonge and Shawville) not the Lake.

There is public launching on Blaskies road which you access from Picanoc road. Camping is found on the islands.

Thanks Daner.

Now to go on an adventure (when time permits).

Spending the weekend fixing things.

Yesterday morning, replacing a whole toilet bowl with accessories.

Trying to have my son's 3G phone fix.

Just repaired the home computer.

Float tube is still in garage waiting for it's first outing.

Of course, wife want's me to get backyard ready for guess later on.
