September camping and fishing

I started off this month with a little camping trip to the Lanark highlands with a few friends. No better way to say goodbye to summer then with one last camping trip shared with friends, And of course a little fishing along with it. So the Friday of the sept long weekend I loaded up the trailer and truck with all the gear and a few kayaks and hit the road early to insure we had a good spot to camp on for the weekend. We were camping on crownland so it is first come first serve.
This lake is not known to hold tons of fish but it does have large mouth, pike and walleye, If you can find them. So as you can guess there where not a tone of fish caught over the weekend. I did however manage a few large mouth and couple little pike. I tried throwing all sorts of baits to entice the fish to give them a little nibble, but nothing seemed to work. So I went with the trusty old spinner bait and finally after 4hrs on the water in got a decent sized fish
16" largie
17.5 was the largest of the weekend
this is "chokes" biggest fish of the weekend lol
Although the fishing was not the best it was a great weekend. Good food, good friends and good times. We also had the privilege to introduce a few people to kayaking with the extra kayaks we brought along. And as expected they fell in love with the sport and im sure we will have 3 new kayakers next season.
