So... What are you guys looking forward to trying this year?

Just what the title says....anything and everything related to Rods, Reels, Terminal Tackle, Plastics, what others are using, what works, what doesn't work, and anything else you want to talk about regarding equipment.

Can't wait to try the boat out!
Built a deck extension, going to change the carpet, changed the outboard and I'd like to put some time into Prop selection/ Jackplate height.

I would also like to see some pics of your deck extension.(sounds dirty doesn't it) I also built a casting deck at the back of my boat for this year. It actually turned out better then I thought it was going to. Here's what I did.
My boat came with a rear deck that was only 12'' wide. I don't know why they would even put it in and most of my buddys wouldn't even stand on it. I put in an L shape deck. Used 3/4'' pressure treated plywood.
Image
Then I went to get the marine carpet that I was gonna install myself but ended up the upholstery shop where I got the carpet only wanted $40 to install it. They did a way better job than I ever could have.
Image
Then I bought another seat post and I welded a 12'' round plate on it to support the extension. The seat base was already there in the floor. I also had to make one bracket to support the edge.
Image
And here's the finished product.

I'm looking forward to seeing how my buddys like this addition.

Jona,

That is one nice looking rear deck. You did a fantastic job. 8)
That $40 was a very good investment.
