Pike Lake near Perth
G'day CBar:
Check out Pike Lake on Fishawk Map Project.
It gives the location, launch, etc.
As you will see it is a long, narrow, and fairly deep lake; slot sizes are in effect I believe.
It can be very productive for all the species you mentioned, or ...........not
, same as many other lakes. We use jig/worm/minnow and have had decent luck, but no one I know of has set the place on fire in the last few years............could change!!
From the launch to the lake is by way of a narrow, shallow river. Be careful here.
Hope this helps.
Regards: Jigs

Sorry Jigs. Mississippi Lake is only 31 kms from Perth....28 minute drive...
I didn't think that was too much to suggest. Not only a good lake to fish, but thought Crystal could help him out.
I thought the user was looking for info on a lake with pike...I misunderstood. Thanks for using a little grace in pointing that out.
RJ, should be on tonight, perhaps he can offer some help that'll better suit his fan club.

I have fished Pike twice for bass. Both times were awesome. We did not catch any hawgs but 1.5 pounders were everywhere. Both times we fished there we found piles of bass in the channel between the launch and the lake. I believe the biggest we caught was 2.4 pounds.
I will definatly be going back there this year. A great way to kill an afternoon and evening.

I didn't realize that ther Mississippi and Pike Lake were time zones apart.
I think I can be on Pike Lake in under 45 min from C.P.
From the big lake you can be at Pike in under 30min.
Anyways, Pike is a good lake and I have had success for pike, walleye and bass there. It is a small lake so it can seem busy during peak periods.

I'm fishing it tommorrow as a matter of fact.
I know the lake well. Fished it for 30 yrs., for years we did opening weekend on it and I had the benefit of fishing it with a guy that spent every weekend on it.
Pretty lake, except for the big ugly trailer park on the hill. Good ramp. Classic walleye water. It's a deep with lots of fast breaking structure and stained water. Certainly not easy. When I fish I always eke out a few but have only really nailed them a few times, either at night and in mid summer off the deep water humps.
Like Jig said its best fished with a jig/worm/minnow. The structure is such that often I fish with the big motor (tiller) running in reverse, eye on the graph shifting in an out of gear and fishing vertically. Hard, exact fishing.

Having reread Jigs post I'd say he was pretty accurate. Sounds like he's fished the lake a fair bit too. Bang on. I'm not from up that way myself but I'd say it's a fair trek over to the Mississppi maybe 50 klicks and it IS on the other side of the county. I guess it all depends on ones interpretation of a long way.
