new to the city

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Hey Jenna welcome aboard. If you had a car and want to go fishing out of the city of Ottawa then theres Petrie Island never really fish there but I know lots of people on that board ho fish down there then further east theres Wendover there you could fish right from the municipal dock very good fishing spot I go fishing there often and I most caught all the species of the Ottawa there like bass pike walleyes muskies cat fish you name it then a bit further east theres Treadwell at the municipal dock again another great spot as well. Then theres the Nation river around Casselman ho its about 3/4 of an hour from Ottawa there you could catch walleye bass pike cat fish carp sucker etc.

If you need more info in some of these spot just send me a pm and I would be glad to help you out and never know maybe going fishing together.

Hey Jenna Bass.. I know what it's like to re-locate although when i moved to Ottawa 8 years ago it was from the north-west of England over 5000 miles away

Now i have my own boat and too much fishing tackle hmm no wait you can never have too much

Enjoy the board and i'm sure there'll be lots of boaters out there that will be glad to help you get out on the water for a day fishing. That goes for any new members who also don't have boats.. watch out for people asking for partners for the day now that the open seasons are getting underway.

Welcome Aboard Jenna, it's great to have ya here!

Moving to Ottawa can be a bit of a hair raising experience at first, but believe me, the people are great, both in the city and on this board. I myself moved here from Toronto nearly 2 years ago (Jesus...that long already?)...and I've had a blast since the day I got here.

Hey Jenna,

Welcome! We chicks are really starting to take over around here!

I'm from Halifax...this board was a God sent when we first moved here. It was our main source for all we needed to know about fishing in the Ottawa area and everything else for that matter.

Well a seat may just be available in the Red Rocket for Saturday if you are interested in targetting some pike in a canoe.

JP couldn't make it and I am waiting to hear back from LarryS and if he is a no go you are welcome to meet some fellow hawk-talkers and ride along in the Red Rocket.

Take a read of the May 28th Petrie pike hunt thread and see if you are interested.
