Pike pics from Huntsville

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

ganman,

While some may agree with your sentiments...... :?

A simple PM to him would have sufficed......attempting to call someone out on the board accomplishes nothing as it just turns into a mess...

Just a thought....

I must have missed something. If there is something I'm not aware of or if I've broken some kind of "rule" ganman, please send me a PM.

I'm sure we can work it out :) .

I know the spot Yankee! It's 3 kilometers north/east of Lake X after crossing river Y, right?

Trapper welcome to a great board pal!

Thanks for the welcome T.S. and as you can see I had to start by giving our bud Yankee a yank on his chain .

There is an awesome Pike fishery in Vernon,Fairy and Peninsula though and it will never surprise me if the next record comes out of those waters . You have a true legit shot at landing a 25-30 lb plus fish on any given day . The numbers are fewer in Vernon for fish but the average size is better than the other two .

Well that's interesting Trapper, thanks. I have some concern that Vernon Pike have access to the Big East River and may be feeding on the fish I target! Is there any barrier or dam that would impede the migration of these pike?
Cheers,

Their are no barriers that I am aware of T'.S . and even up further here I have seen pike go up the Sterling creek to the falls at times so as far as I know thats about all the pike have on the Big East but I could be wrong . Its hard to tell of late because the M.N.R. is constantly pulling out more and more bridges and dams .

That's my fear, the OMNR are removing dams and bridges to lessen their liability, but at what cost to the fisheries?

That's the one TS :)

Trapper, I personally saw a 18lb pike come out of Vernon. I agree they are there in quality but not in numbers.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. It was a blast Nick. I always enjoy the outdoors, friendship and good food. Catching fish is just icing on the cake :) .
