Wow Rico, that's a great observation, I thought there was no difference at all between the head of a Speck and the head of a Splake. Would you elaborate on the difference please? I would need to see the tail to tell you that you are mistaken!Rico wrote:Thats a speck for sure just tell by its head.

You could be right T.S. but since I see no spots at all so my guess is rainbow and without seeing the tail it 's even a tougher call and I won't take that bet but by the lifting I know these are ling . This lake has been only ever stocked with speckles. I have never heard of anything else coming out of it.
I thin that the sun shining on the fish is what is making the coloring so hard to distinguish.
Carlco, What did the tail look like if you can remember
I still consider the fish to be a stocked speckle. If it was a naturally producing lake I would have my doubts, but since these are government raised fish ya never know what they are doing to them.
