Heard from a few people yesterday that the water in the Mississippi is low for this time of year. I havent seen personally, but what effect will this have on the Bass fishin come next week??
Im kinda new at fishin this area and I would like to get myself and the kids out next weekend and onward.
I have no boat so we will will be lookin at shore fishin.
Does this mean they will congregate in deeper pools of water?? The way I figure it less water the higher the water temp will be.
Pardon my ignorance here, Im just finally getting back into fishing, since the kids are older and Im in an area where I dont have to travel very far for good fishin
I have a camp on the lower Miss. Current water level is just a tad higher than you'd expect at midsummer. Before the recent rain the water temp was around the midsummer level, too. Should be ideal for the bass opener.
You're in Prospect????... ...walk down the street to the white house with 2 old out-buildings....I'll tell ya where to fish....
I was on the Miss last night...I found the water level up about a foot from last week....Pike were hittin good last night....Birdee had a 10 pounder to the boat....she was freakin'...
I did not see a bass bed anywhere......which was surprising....
One thing Ive learned about the Miss is that nothigns to shallow for bass and big ones too. Fish overlooked areas with little to no water it will be really warm and full of small fish for them to feed on!
Thanks for the info lads. Hopefully next weekend will be blast with everyone catching trophy Bass!!
Hey RJ yeah I live in Prospect. Small world man. If you ever see me out front cuttin the grass stop in for pint. High ranch that is pretty much on the corner of Richmond Rd. and Windmill Cresent.
