any eyes on Scugog??

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

any eyes on Scugog??

Post by Biff »

Out on Scugog today for 7 hours off of Goreskis... caught 2 muskie both about the same size on spinners. The funny thing was, we were fishing for walleye.. and never even seen one caught by anyone. Wondering if someone can direct me to the walley there. I noticed some locations in this area had alot of weeds and others were deeper with no or little weeds.. i know from growin up in Quinte that the deeper water during the day will produce unless its shoals... i tried both areas and no eyes.... I assume the cold weather had a part to play in all this but i would expect to see at least one eye...

We were trolling CC Shad, Shad raps, Bluefox with leach... no hits other that muskie.

Can anyone offer some insight as to were the eyes will be found? this part of the lake? Goreski? north , south?

Also; in the weeds or deep?

thanks a bunch

Welcome to the board biff...

The guys have been saying Scugog has been hot fishing recently but with all the rain that's hit ontario recently who knows what's changed now... perhaps send a pm (personal message) to the guys rj listed to see if they can give you some more up-to-date info

Welcome to the board Biff. Scugog was great for about the last 3 weeks but with the recent cold front things seemed to have slowed down....for me stopped. :(

I got out for a half day today on the other side of the island from where you were and got skunked on the walleye. Managed to get one muskie boatside but that was it.

Didn't see a lot of fish caught today either but the ones that were successful were jigging.

Try bucktails or 3inch grubs later in the week when it warms up. Find a pack of boats that are onto fish(shouldn't be a problem on a weekend) and start jigging. No promises...but that is what worked for me for the last few weeks until today.

Hi All and thanks for the welcomes... yes indeed very slow.. having fished the Quinte for years as a local.. i tried a few of those tactics like Erie Deries and such on Scugog with no luck either.. other than Muskie :)

I will try again tomorrow.. generally what side of the lake do you think is better? Goreski or Ceasaria.. i might try the other side tomorrow depending.

thanks a bunch
