Opening Weekend White lake

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Opening Weekend White lake

Post by Oakborne »

Well its been awhile since i have posted or had any fish to report, but that time has come to an end :D . My wife, brother and I headed to our trailer on White lake this past weekend for the Bass opener. After fishing in the tourny Saturday and having little luck finding the bass we headed out Sunday at around noon to retest our luck. Here i have to put in a special thanks to Bucketmouth for the bag of plastics he gave me durring the winter....THEY WORK!!!! :D I had never used plactics before and had stocked up on a few different sizes and colours. We managed to catch around 15-20 LMs in 5 hours and kept the 6 biggest for an awsome dinner. My brother caught His bass on a white Big-O and Zory and I caught all our bass on 5"silver, 5" Watermelon and pearl and 7" black with silver tip plastics. Im heading back this weekend to see if i cant find any of the notorious "Lunkers" :D :D :D

Zory's 1st ever Inseason Bass!!

Good catch Oakburn...good to see you back at Fish-Hawk!

Jenna.....Bass taste fine. I did some up in Fish Crisp and although not as good as walleye ( then again, what is?..maybe salmon) they were tasty non the less. Pike for that matter are good as well. All thrown in the same pan, most people will not be able to tell what they are eating.

Oakborne & Zory,

How were you fishing those plastics, if you don't mind my asking?

Texas rigged? Wacky? Or just slowly retrieved?

Always looking for new ways to fish some old favorites. I've got piles of bags of plastics. I love them.

W.
Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.

Hey Wolfe,

It wasnt very windy so we were slowly drifting. The baits were rigged wacky and we just let them sink slowly.

:) :)
