How thick is the ice really?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I fish on a bay on the mississippi, and the ice a few days ago was 6 inches. However,Ido not imagine the ice being that thick out on the channels, but with this weather, who knows.I will be fishing tomorrow with Ciscoekid and will give a report Striker.

keep being safe spence.

unknown water can be real tricky this time of year. a little flow under the ice can change it from 6 inches to 1 in a couple of feet.....

if you don;t know it, dont go.

if you do, you need a partner and should be tied off.
