Fluorocarbon, Which ones did you try?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I personally don't like any of the pure Flouro lines but I have fallen in love with the P-Line Flouroclear in sizes from 6-17 pound range. I use it on all my gear along with the CXX and I won't use anything else. I have tried the pure flouro from Berkley and P-Line and I don't like either.

Florocarbon is a very low memory line and people may have problems if spooled onto a spinning reel. Because of it's low memory, the line tends to want to loop off and creat problems for the user. If you are going to be usaing Florocarbon try it on a larger diameter spool on spinning reels or as leader material, this will save you lots of money in the long run.

fishmaster-I love the P-Line Floro coated lines as well and I use it for ice fishing. The P-Line CXX has been the best mono/copolymer I have ever used. I tried the new Mustad Thor line this year as well and was very impressed. I will give it a serious go next open water season.

Hey great question!
Seaguar: amzing but not great for using as main line unless it's on a baitcaster because of how dense and how much memory it has. Great for leader material and i trhough spinnerbaits with the 15 lb on my baitcatsers.

Berkley Vanish:This line is only fluro-carbon coated. didn't like it but no other anglers that swear by it.

Transition: I thought it waas kewl, and casted well for a main line.

P-line : i find they make great line but this line has same prob as seagur for main line would only strees using it as mainline if you are using a baitcaster.

Remebr to lubricate your knots because flour more then any line burns it's self when pulled agaisn't each other. !

Berkley Vanish - gave it a good try but trashed it after too many break offs. Used it for ice fishing and thought it was getting brittle in the cold.
I forgot about wetting the knot. Read that in an article long ago. Maybe that was my problem.
Too late-it's in the dumptser

Thanks Guys

Never thought I would get so many response.

I must have got a bad batch of the vanish and I am not sure if I want to spend another 18$ for a spool.

I wish the shops around here had a lot of selection. No Pline, or Seaguar. Next time I see some I will pick some up. I would like to try the Pline coated line.

Lunkerlurker- Never fished massawipi but heard it has been fished out over the years. You want to catch some nice lakers come to Memphremagog. Caught a 14.5 pounder last year and the average size in the spring is around 6-8lbs. Heard of people catching some 20 pounders last year. CANT Wait.

Thanks Again
