JUDGEMENT DAY FOR FISH-HAWK PEOPLE BY ANOTHER BOARD

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Okay, now this is where I draw the line... Put your dukes up! :)

Everyone else, what I've taken away from this is some knowledge about Quebec I didn't have before. With your brookie opportunities and apparently much better management of fisheries than what I see here in the GTA, darn right, I'm jealous now. I'll trade a bucket of perch for brookies any day...

Cheers

nighttroller wrote:I am a 99% catch and release angler but pictures of people with their limit don't bother me at all. The important thing to ask yourself is whether it is legal or not. If it is legal there is nothing to be said unless you want to congratulate them on their catch!
Agreed.....another example of wasted breath and bandwidth...ask yourselves why this discussion is even happening...on a personal level...this is what drives people away from boards...meaningless banter and soap opera like posts like this....as Nightroller said...is it a legal limit??? If so....and you don't like it? Take your complaint to the people that control the limits! Otherwise...congrats on a nice catch. end of story!!!   Stop the dam holier than thou preaching! It's posts like this that are making it harder and harder to justify staying with this board....this is nothing less than a mud slinging contest fueled by "My dad can beat up your Dad" adolescents....sorry for venting....but I've had my fill of this BS...

I beleive it was an adimtted and corrected judgement error on urbananglers part . And correct me if I'm wrong no on else had flipped over toFH to critize . Urbanangler , hats off to you for dealing with it , all be it after the fact , maturely and promptly. I fully support the catch and circumstances of it . But I can also appreciate that just because it's there and the limit is high , doesn't mean you should exercise your limit everytime. I don't believe there is any wrong on either part , just lack of information and a huge misunderstanding

"Judgement day for people at Fish-Hawk from another Board?"...I personally think the thread title was engineered to get members "worked-up" instantly. Just my thought.

carp-started...why do you have no views on this???

I think there is no difference between what they kept from that lake, then keeping the same from a stocked pond...bought and paid for either way. Plus the numbers recorded.

Agreed Matt...

1: UA: We made an error in judgement Please accept our apologies"
2:FH: Apologies acepted, good luck and tight Lines"

nuff said. No value added in exchanging "My Dad can beat up your Dad posts.." 3 pages no less....this "if you don't do like us, you're a poacher" preaching has to stop everytime someone posts a pic of a dead fish! It turns my stomach how fast people are to play judge and jury on peoples posts! Then you'll read a post like "Did I miss something"....is anyone REALLY wondering WHY people have stopped coming and posting here??? Posts like this make it more than obvious to me....why can't we all simply fish...post our experiences and adventures without fearing being slandered or critisized about the way the fish was held...how many were kept if any...if a picture was taken...was it handled properly....was it a pic of an OOS fish....this anal obsession with mindless details have crippled this board to the point one is better not posting to avoid the barrage of criticism from a group of people who have ALL at one time or another have been guilty of their own accusations! This behaviour has to stop if this board is going to survive....personally....I've just about had enough. I apologize if I've hurt anyones feelings....but to be honest...it hurts my feelings to see such behaviour from people I expected to be above the type of comments in this thread

Regards,
Mikey

Well since i'm one of the ones being "judged", and from the get go said there was no hard feelings, I don't see why this needs to keep getting beat...

Lide a dead horse lie... maybe (i'm not sure if that's right) anyways, you get my point.

UA, I appreciate you being straight up!

I can't belive one fo the guys (Fishboy) I think stated that most Fish-Hawkers fish to keep. All I read on here is stories of everyone C&R and telling people not to keep to many fish. I wonder if he really posts on here?

Cheers,

Scott

I am only responding because it appears that reporting innuendo is more important that reporting the facts. Go to Hipwader.com and read my post. I will not apologize for having an opinion of my own even if it conflicts with a large number of F-H members.

To paraphrase what I wrote, catch and keep is part of what anglers from F-H do. This is not a lie. The anglers at HW are not accustomed to catch & keep and they needed to know this in order to keep the photos in context. I also wrote about how upset some F-H members were at the sight of large numbers of bass on display in a photo taken in the southern USA. That is called balanced reporting.

The thread generated roughly 23 responses on Hipwader.com - including a retraction, an apology, and opposing views from F-H members. Yet on F-H you'd think someone published unflatering photos of your prophet in a Danish newspaper. Let it go and move on.......

Re: Great job fellas!

pchilli1 wrote:An appropriate quote for these fellas would be “jealously and envy will get you no where!”. These fellas, (while surly all great people) are likely the same ones that cringe at the sight of a cow or pig slaughtered but have no problem prancing into their local butcher and requesting two 16oz t-bone steaks or large pork chops.

When you break it all down, each one of those fish probably cost you $10 in time, equipment, gas and patience! Throwing one away would be like burning a $10 bill.

You were within you legal limit, therefore, there is no problem.

Good job!
Wow can't believe the posts/responses to this.

pchilli1 it actually cost me 2 days, 4 hours of driving and worked out to $20 a trout. But the company and scenery more than the fish is why I went. And very few of these voracious fish would have been able to be released if we wanted to. When our limit was reached we stopped fishing. I think our next group shoot we should where dresses and have a joint dangling from our mouths and be holding meat cleavers and fillet knives and whiskey bottles, I now know of such a site to post this pic.

Kodiak and Carlco nice responses on the other site.

I was thinking of stopping at Loblaws and taking a pic of the fish for sale all piled up neatly and on ice and posting it you know where, after all maybe they came from the same hatchery, but then I realized my time is worth more than that.

Keep yer hooks in the water!
Well and truly hooked!

Hey Shad

We just caught speck's and one or two suckers, we were told a few bows might still be in the lake but we didn't catch any.
Well and truly hooked!
