This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I believe Duck Gunner would be your man to talk to. But I haven't heard a thing from him in a looong time. Perhaps a PM to Duck Gunner...?

Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.

Ironic that I'm giving ya this info, as I would side with the ducks... ...however, Gorfman007 would probably also be of good assistance to you.

I don't do much in the ways of looking at Duck Hunting, let alone have shown interest in it. I've always been more of a big game guy (I just can't get the lead of a shotgun down...so much easier with a rifle, lol).

If you ever want to teach someone how to Duck Hunt though, I'd definately be interested. As for Duck Hunting, as Wolfe said I'd say Duck Gunner is the man to PM, though he comes and goes as he pleases.

Hey Duckman,
The fowl hunting around these parts is excellent. Ottawa lies right on a major migration route. The Ottawa river holds some good hunting, but check the regs, there are sanctuaries as well as issue's with Bylaws and discharging gun's.

Most of the hunting I've done is for puddler's/Geesse. The best opportunities for geese are in the corn fields that almost surround the west end of the city (Stittsville) Land access is key. Most of the farmer's I have spoke with have no problem with people going into their fields and harvesting some geese.
As for the duck's, there are lots of water way's around to hunt. Mississippi system, Jock river, rideau system, all within an hour of here.

Check with the Ministry of Natural Resources in Kemptville. They should be able to provide you with , maps etc.

Good luck and welcome to Ottawa.
