Musky Slaughter in Maine

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Trex,

Maybe they don't want to be enlightened.

Here carp are shot with bow and arrows and tossed in the garbage. No seasons. Nobody cares. Why? Because they're ugly and they ain't muskies. Same with commorants. You wouldn't have a hard time finding anglers who would be in favour of a commorant cull.

If I remember folks in Maine have a tradition of being downright inhospitable to outsiders. Look at the reaction they had to smallmouth bass. Before that it was brown trout which unbelievable as it may seem were thought equally coarse and ugly. Compared to the beautiful native brookie and regal salmon muskies are even more ugly and coarse.

As far as enlightening them imagine how you'd feel if someone from elsewhere started enlightening you on carp and commorant conservation.

Those folks in Maine didn't ask for those those muskies, they came courtesy of the province of Quebec.

The philosphy on catch and kill has changed on almost every specis of

fish and many other sports as well. Cant we all agree to disagree on

this subject and move on to other things. No one type of fish is going to

be the "best " for everyone. I'm pretty much happy aslong as im out on

the water and fishing wich is why we are all here, Our love of fishing
