Hut Regulation Question

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Hut Regulation Question

Post by duber »

We are finally getting some ice here on the BoQ!Next weekend is the last weekend for the walleye season and the huts have to be off on the 28th.Pike remains open till the end of March and perch never closes so my question is can you still use portable shelters and portable huts after Feb.28?The reason to have the huts off is so they don't end up in the water when the ice goes out but a portable is never left out on the ice.I will still fish pike and perch after the 28th so it would be nice to be able to take the portable out but I don't want any problems with the athorities.Anybody have any experiences or input to share ?

I can't see any reason why you can't use a portable as long as you bring it home with you at night. I would never leave my fish trap on the ice overnight anyway

I checked the fishing regs and portables are not mentioned in the ice hut regs. so as far as I can tell ,as long as the ice is safe you are good to go.
