line type
I always used Trilene Mono till last year. Moved to braid.
Started with PowerPro. Other then the fading issue (or non issue as I see it) it was good.
Decided to try SpyderWire Stealth this season on my baitcaster. So far I have not been all that happy. It holds it colour good, and casts well, but it digs into the spool too easy. Knots up when casting (coming off the spool after it has dug in, not birds nests). Hopefully you will have better luck then me. It does seem to not take on water as much as PowerPro, which is a good thing.
Thinking I'm going to try Stren Braid next.

I started using Stren Superbraid about 3 seasons ago. The first spool I bought lasted me almost 2 whole seasons. My reel was getting a bit emptier than I like, but... I was broke. Casting is remarkable and it's really... Really strong. I've been using the 20lb test with a 6lb diameter. I havn't lost a fish due to line break since I made the switch. And I pulled in a lot of toothy pike last year. I don't know if I will be changing that setup in a while.
Have fun!

I'm all over the place when it comes to line....I try to spool up with different brands and tests to try them out and see what I like best...
I use FINS on 2 of my bait casters (Okuma VS and Cabelas Prodigy) ( 15# and 30# ) which I totally love the line!!!! No back lashes, memory, and knot strength is great....
I have used Stren braid for 2 years now on my musky line counter reel (Okuma Convector and Penn Peer 201) (50#) I have to say that I will not use another brand for musky, the line is tough as nails, doesn't dig into my reels, knot strength is amazing, no memory what so ever....
I use Power Pro, Cajun Red Line and Fireline (Fireline is a must on the Detroit River when jigging walleye) on all the rest of my spinning reels (Shimano Symetre for jigging, a couple Slades for pan fish, Okuma Epixor for anything...I love that reel, one of the best drag systems I've ever used) Most of the reels I have come with extra spools so I mix and match lines and tests for different applications....
