Best thing I've Every Seen

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Best thing I've Every Seen

Post by Placide »

So I know why I'm not catching any big fish this year. Apparently my lures are to small.
While out shore fishing last night on the Ridue, Not going to tell you people were, I seen the best thing ever. Three full sized ducks had been floating around the other side of the river near a weed bed, minding there own business. Then in an instanced a huge musky came up out of no where and clamped down on one of them from behind. The poor ducks wings where a flapping as it tried to pull away, after about 3-5 mins of water splashing and wings flapping the waters went calm again and there was nothing left of the duck.
The moral of the story is I have to go out and buy me some decoys and put some hooks in them, then maybe I will get me my first Musky.

I think I have one of those pink plastic lawn flamingoes out in the shed. Hmm, take off the legs, get some big trebel hooks...

Wild! Similar incident happened at Dow's lake last Sunday, mama duck hearded her ducklings to shore and went back out quacking around. Turns out, someone saw something come up and engulf one of her ducklings.

We caught a 8 lbs pound pike in the Rideau one fall day...........the friggin thing had bite marks.

You need to put some of those kiddie water wings on them - they stay afloat longer - watch for the claws :P

I saw a baby goose go down Canada Day on the Ottawa, wake boarding withs the kids so no rods in the boat

Actually, I wish I could have been present to see it in person. Tis, nature after all. Lord knows I've seen enough waterfoul, swimming around, knowing it would make a nice tasty muskie snack. Might have to rethink the pink flamingo, treble combo.

(btw. Monster. we need to talk, methinks we know a whackload of the same people and I'm tired of paying a covercharge. )
