Thieves Beware!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Thieves Beware!

Post by Todd B. »

Seems there has been some thefts in the Grand River area. Here's the quote from Ian Colin James' website.
$2,000 REWARD:
Recently someone popped the lock on my car and stole two fly rods with reels and lines. I was parked at the Garafax 2nd Line bridge on the Grand River. The rods and reels are marked and they are unique. If you have the stolen equipment you can drop it off at any of these stores with no questions asked:
Troutfitters, Fergus
First Choice Tackle, Guelph
Hook Line and Sinker, Guelph
The Stone Store, Guelph
Kingsway Sports, Guelph
Natural Sports, Kitchener
Angling Sports, London
Jay's Fly Shop, London
Grindstone Angling, Waterdown
If you know who has the stolen gear, and you want to collect $2,000 in cash, just let me know who has it. I am NOT going to press charges nor am I going to get the police involved. I am simply going to administer a large helping of Scottish retribution on the person, which will result in a life style modification for him. In other words, they will going to go to hospital for a rather long time. I am not joking and for the record there will be no remorse on my part. Now if you are one of those bleeding hearts who thinks that the chap needs a good talking to, or that he needs to light a few scented candles because he was taken way from his mothers teat too soon ... to you I say, "I don't give a rats derriere." So, just let me know who has the stolen equipment, prove to me that they have it and you can walk away with the $2,000. It's just that easy.
Having met Ian I hope he gets his gear back. For the guy that stole it, I hope he drops it off before Ian finds him. LOL

2 thousand reward did you even pay that for the rods and the gear....I know that gear can be very expensive since I have had a tacklebox full of lures and otehr stuff etc..stolen...Its actually pretty sad people cannot just work like everyone else and earn money so they can buy there own crap.

Im just saying 2000 might sound a little too much and more likely sound like a trap to the person who knows or who is in posession of your stuff.

Well as a guide and co-host of the New Fly Fisher, I'm guessing the equipment came direct from a corporate rep at a cost substantially less than list price. As for the $2000, there's talk (on another fly fishing board) that people have been contributing to the pot of reward money.
