Lower Buckhorn Kawarthas

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I was there last week, much cleaner than Upper Buckhorn at this time of year - not so much floating weed. We clonked bottom a few times, don't cut inside the marker buoys, thee are rocks not on the charts  What are you targetting?? we had 5 Muskie and some nice largies.

Hello

A buddy has a cottage on Lovesick. We go through the locks and fish across from the marina(300 yards approx). There is a huge weedbed. We float over top and dunk minnows in the opennings of the weeds. Caught bass, musky and walleye this way. All sorts of places to fish. Funny place because we catch lots of smallish musky fishing for bass. Find the edge of a weedbed and cast 4 to 6 inch crankbaits, you will get both bass and musky. Lots of small musky. My buddy is convinced all the musky stocking has taken a heavy toll on walleye population though!

cheers
