Personally I have not been very happy with my SpiderWire Stealth line on my Curado D.
The way it holds colour is nice and its tough enough for sure... but once it gets a little wet it digs into the spool bad. Its more square then round and for some reason it just digs in on me.
Going to try something different for this time around.
Thanks for the replies fellas. Looks like I'm going to try either Power Pro or Spider Wire Stealth. By the way is Power Pro "quiet"? My buddy was using Fireline and you could hear the line on the guides.
I use Berkely Fireline 20lb? and always use a florocarbon leader of about 10lbs. I don't think I'll use anything other than a braid for my main line nemore. Too many positive qualities.

Cheers.
In my expereince all braided lines make that sound... Thats how I know if the guys around me are using braid or not... the distinct sound.
I've used power pro ever since it's been out. 2 winters ago I got a good deal on a 2500 yrd spoll of tuffline xp in the same 80# test. I've put that line on 2 weeks ago and so far I am not impressed. Seems like you have to retie every day as I have been getting a lot of fraying which isn't any good. My power pro would never need to be retied or rarely ever.
I'll give it a couple of weeks and it's doesn't improve I'll have 2250yrds of 80# tuff line + for sale cheep.
I'm surprised no one mentioned Stren Braid.....I have it on my musky trolling reel (Okuma Convector) and love the stuff....no memory, no dye coming off of it, and tough as nails....for the baitcaster (Okuma VS) I'm using FINS, another one of my favorites.....I have used a bunch of other brands and this stuff I have found to be the easiest to get birds nests out and I find it very tough since we have zebra muscles in are Lakes down here in Windsor.....

I have a medium weight spinning setup that i use for most everything, and Im wondering if I could put on a braid to hekp pull my jigs up when the yineveitably get stuck in some sunken tree.
Thx.

Actually, I use FireLine (2-6 and 8-15) on most of my spinning reels, and mono on all my baitcasters. I don't think extreme thinness is an advantage on a level winder. I don't want my line digging into itself under pressure.
By the way, FireLine isn't really a braid. Its filaments are parallel and bonded by heat. I prefer it to the actual braids. And I had very poor luck with the one spool of PowerPro that I tried. Maybe it was a bad batch, but I found it tended to tangle, and broke easily under sharp, sudden pressure. Never had those problems with FireLine.
Yes I must agree with some on PP line especially on spinning reels . I haven't tested it yet on my baitcasters but it is thin and from personal experience feathering baitcasters,,, go heavy with your lines in diameter . I'm still using mono on them because of previous issue with braid but there are some nice round braids out now . Pricey but they last .
