Bleeding hearts. I was told that fish didnt feel pain in their mouths due to the fact that they eat other fish with spines that obviusly could puncture some mouths. Regardless I am still going to fish, And I once caught the same fish twice on the same lure in the span of ten minutes so I guess it didnt hurt it to much. Now I do hate it when a hook gets lodged to far to remove I hate that. I think I will quit fishing for life now!! NAHHHHH in fact all this talk about fishing is making me want to blow off work tonight and go.
Good fishing Yall!!!!

The cowards! There is no provision to email them to tell them how insulted I am with their comparison of fish to dogs. I guess they would rather I kill the fish and eat it rather than let it go. Seems to me that it would be better to be let go than get gonked on the head. Dogs and cats serve people and are "people". Fish and cows are FOOD. Sorry PETA and related nutbars, you are off way off track this time!

Pain vs PETA
:DFish do feel pain as do all living things although they do not interpret it as pain and LABEL it as we HUMANS do.
Lots of studies have been done on this subject and the truly SUBJECTIVE NATURE of PETA emphasizes the fact that if you want you can find a study to back-up any argument. No matter how bad you twist or SPIN it. Geuss that's why we have all those religions, variations of a theme.
The theme here is obviously pain.
Now does a fish fell pain like WE do NO. They do feel pain because if they didn't then going deep and shallow and going from cold water to hot water wouldn't matter to them. So they exhibit a reponse to a stimulus and that is where the interpretation is changed from fact to fantasy. Is this pain or merely reacting to an UNCOMFORTABLE stimulus. Like getting out of bed in the morning.
As was mentioned the fact of eating fish with spines would be UNCOMFORTABLE and eating crayfish would be PAINFUL why would they be a basses favorite food, why not just suck down slippery frogs all day. Or go find some nice minners, no I like choolate ice cream and bass like crayfish. Now do I sometimes get an ice cream headache from eating ice cream YES but I still eat it.
No it's uncomfortable but not painfull and I will surely eat it again, so if we are going to give fish human characteristics then we should give humans fish characteristics.
Fish can breath under water can PETA members breath underwater. I think we should find out. Lets capture a few of these elusive PETA people and see if they can live like a fish. Maybe that could shut them up.
I have always been waiting for some of them to show up at a tournament but without the TV cameras these people don't really have a voice.
I have been told that the best way to handle them is to ignore them and give them no notice. That only spreads their message.
My point is this, I feel that rough handling or improper handling of fish is wrong and injurious to the fish after it has been in it's life and death struggle with the angler. The studies show the physiological cahnges in fish when they have been caught, FACT #1. Thus the more stress at this time the more determental it is to the survival of that caught and released fish. That is what happens to the fish when it is caught it's response is to go into fight or flight mode. FACT #2 It's all or nothting for the fish and that is why the time taken to release the fish is critical to it's survival.
PETA is like the other side of the coin and we need as humans both choices to
be fair. Don't get me wrong I am not sticking up for them but I understand their existance, someting they do not understand about mine and I'm sure others will agree with me on this point.
Remember there are no good guys and bad guys just peolpe who make DIFFERENT choices.
