Fishing Constance Bay with My 3 year old
Decided last night to try fishing Phiney's point, called the city, and they said that there was fishing allowed, bet out there and the sign says otherwise! So with the wife and 2 kids in the car we headed out to constance bay. Found the public dock there, adn sat out on the end with my daughter to fish, she caught some little perch. I threw my line out with a plastic on. I hooked right away into a nice size smallie, about 2 pounds. My daughter got real excited all of a sudden and her line took off, she was using a Dora rod, I helped her reel it in. she got it to the dock. now in the mean time a few younger kids showed up, one of them grabbed my daughters line, and heaved it up, a good size samll mouth, Now this Kid decides to take it off the hook before i could get my hands on it, and promply drops my daughters first prime fish in the water! Made my daughter cry, she never even got to hold it herself. I was almost in tears too! no pic, not even able to hold it either. And not a parent of theirs to be seen! Oh well, they'll be more fish. HAve some pictures to come! none of her big one though!

Matt,
This place is great.
If you're willing to make a little hike, there is a spot of the beaten trail (about 5 minutes walking), and it leads to a point between an island. I've had great success with Cats, and smallmouth, and last year got a 27" pike here that was really healthy and thick.
There are boardwalks all around Morris Island, so its great for little ones and its my favorite shore fishing place.

YOU ARE SOOOO RIGHT. My husband & I were just talking about this a day or so ago.matcolecat wrote:whats with all the unsupervised kids?!
I can tell you where some of them are, though. Many times, these unsupervised kids end up tagging around with my kids, and that means I get to watch them.

Too bad about your daughter's big one getting in the hands of some overeager "helper". But I am sure there will be lots more for her, as long as her old Dad takes her fishing.

Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.
