Big Gull Lake

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Big Gull Lake

Post by Howe2 »

Hey Gang: I'm new to your board but I got a map from here and am heading to Big Gull Lake near Arden. Can anyone offer anything in addition to what the map marks or any techniques that may produce better than others. I appreciate the help.

Thanks,
H2

Hey Howe2,

Not sure where you are staying but if you can find the Big rock just off of Camps Bay cottages it has a few shoals that will produce Walleye and SM bass.I'd either fish it with Tubes or if the fish are active troll with crayfish coloured crankbaits.

You can also try the weedbeds adjacent to the narrow channel the heads to little Gull lake for pike and Largemouth bass.Watchout for the Rock as you enter,it's usually out of the water but stick to the left side to be sure.

I would also check out the Fishhawk map for a few other spots and to get a bearing on the spots above.

That's a good spot scumking pointed out, but watch out for the rocks. Also there is a nice spot in front of pinnacle point that has some good walleye action. There a rock out by pinnacle point (gull rock) that seems to be a good place. There always lots of boats trolling around that when ever i have been there. Don't want to give away all my secrets. Anyone portage over to quebec lake from gull(thinking of doing that next trip to gull).
